Shahid Afridi axed, Younis Khan, Umar Gul included in Pakistan ODI team for India tour

There were a few surprise inclusions and omissions in the squads with Shahid Afridi, who has been in indifferent form, being dropped from the ODI's but retained in the shortest format.
Pakistan on Monday dropped big-hitting allrounder Shahid Afridi from their squad for the three-match one-day international series against arch-rivals India starting this month. Mohammad Hafeez will continue to head the T20 side while Misbah ul Haq retains ODI captaincy.

The 32-year-old captained Pakistan in their 2011 World Cup campaign, managing just 76 runs and five wickets in his last 10 one-dayers.

He will miss the 50-over series -- the neighbours' first in five years.
Shoaib Malik likewise misses out on the one-day squad but makes the T20 list, while experienced allrounder Abdul Razzaq was axed altogether as chief selector Iqbal Qasim said it was time to blood some younger players in one of sport's fiercest rivalries.
Younis Khan and Umar Gul meanwhile staged a comeback to the ODI side after being out of favour for some time.

Finally, Pakistan team has got rid of immature Shahid Afridi from the odi series against india. The selectors think he should be in some form to bring back it into odi team. The ex-captain is facing some form problems since last 12 months.Shahid afridi has never faces 100 balls in an innings its highest was 94 against India. The ex-coach 'MOIN KHAN' says if Afridi performs well he will get a strong chance in odi's. But who knows!

But in my opinion Afridi should be selected as he have a strong impression on the against team. Captain 'misbah-ul-haq' is in full favour to bring Shahid afridi in to team and he was going to replace Umar Akmal with shahid afridi which may cause a problem with the Pakistan team.

Younis Khan in my opinion is the best batsmen too be selected against pressure series india. he can handle the pressure at any stage we should get more advantage of his experience

We have selected a balanced team with the consensus of the selection committee, both the captains and the coach with a hope that these teams will give good results on the India tour," Qasim told reporter
"We have selected Afridi in the Twenty20 squad only and have given Zulfiqar Babar a chance in both the teams as he has been performing well in domestic cricket," said Qasim of the uncapped 34-year-old left-arm spinner.
mran Nazir, who opened the batting at the World Twenty20, was dropped, while batsman Asad Shafiq and left-arm spinner Raza Hasan were ruled out through injury.

Pakistan team is in processing stage against such a high series. The young guns who have played well in nation t20 have been given chance. Shaid afridi, abdur razzaq, shaoib malik the 3 senior player are going to miss the indian series which will be very challenging for the team Pakistan.

Pakistan fly to New Delhi on December 22 and play the first Twenty20 match in Bangalore three days later.
